As befitting a company that is always at the cutting edge of development, Colnago has become one of the first bike companies to produce its own app for the iPad.

Available free from the App Store on iTunes, the Colnago app offers a behind-the-scenes look at this iconic brand. It features the story of the 2011 range, including detailed photos of the new-for-2011 C59 Italia on which Bbox team leader Thomas Voeckler won the French national title, the Tour de France stage into Luchon and the GP de Quebec

The app also includes a gallery showcasing photos of Colnago bikes in the factory museum at Cambiago, plus action shots of the Colnago-sponsored teams including Bbox and Colnago CSF

The app also offers fascinating insight into the technology employed in the manufacture of Colnago’s prestige bike brands, plus the history of the company from its founding in 1954 to the present day through its collaboration with companies such as Ferrari and Mapei, and riders such as Paolo Bettini and Sven Nys.

In addition, the app presents the story of how company founder Ernesto Colnago took up road racing before being employed by the likes of Fiorenzo Magni, Gastone Nencini and Eddy Merckx and then moving into bike manufacturing.
