Bravo Thomas Voeckler on his Colnago M10 – Stage 8 – Paris Nice 2011

13 Mar

Bravo Thomas Voeckler on Stage 8 of the Paris-Nice. It was indeed a fantastic stage to watch. The weather conditions were atrocious and dangerous. However, Thomas held his nerve and applied all the skills and experience he has gained through years of professional racing. His technical decent at speed in these conditions was absolutely breathtaking. He’s certainly enjoying riding is Colnago M10!

Voeckler was part of a breakaway group which went in the early part of the stage, and then forged ahead on the Col d’Eze climb. He was joined by Diego Ulissi (Lampre – ISD) and together the two of them set about in building a big enough lead to hold off the inevitable charge behind. Voeckler then pushed ahead on the slippery run down towards Nice, eking out a stage-winning lead and reaching the line on Nice’s Promenade des Anglais 23 seconds ahead of Ulissi.

If you didn’t get a chance to watch the race, sit back and enjoy! Well done Mr Voeckler!
